| *~*Faceted Amethyst Dress*~* *please click on photos for a better look* This appliqué idea has been rolling in my head for a while. I really like the way it turned out. The gemstone is an outline with lavender thread on the purple corduroy bodice. The entire dress is made up of pretty cotton calico's in 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" squares. All the fabrics are swirly vines, stars, and dragonflies. My old man was trying to get me to keep this one. Luckily for you I made it a little too big to fit me :o) Keep that in mind when looking at the photos. The bodice is a little big on me so it won't bunch up like that if it is your correct size. This dress is meant to be mid calf length but since I am 5'3" it is ankle length on me. I made it that way so you don't get mud on your dress from those spring and summer festivals and so you can show off those frilly petticoats.
